General Information
Camp Petosega has 90 campsites with electricity and water (five of which are pull-through with sewer hook-up), four rustic sites, modern restrooms and showers, seven rental cabins, playgrounds, a beach, and open field game areas. More information on the camp sites and cabins is detailed below. (Please note that rates are subject to change annually.)
SOME POINTS TO REMEMBER:
- Quiet Hours are 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- ATVs and UTVs are prohibited in campgrounds and on trails
- No television is available in the cabins
- Use outside fire ring only for fires
- No smoking in any buildings
- No pets inside any buildings
There is a two-night minimum stay and a 14-night maximum stay on all campsite and cabin rentals.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND FEES — CAMPSITES
• A non-refundable reservation fee of $8 per reservation, and $2 administration fee for each site reserved, will be charged and collected when the reservation is made.
• A $10 cancellation fee will be charged per reservation, regardless of when canceled.
• Cancellations made the day of arrival or later shall forfeit the first night’s camping fee and incur the $10 cancellation fee, plus the $10 non-refundable reservation fee ($2 administration and $8 reservation).
• If you are in camp and you leave before your scheduled departure date, NO refund will be given.
• An additional credit card convenience fee of 2.6% will show up as a separate transaction on your credit card.
CANCELLATION POLICY AND FEES — CABINS, REC HALL & PAVILION
• Cancellation less than 30 days prior to the reservation date will result in a forfeiture of the security deposit.
• Rental money is refundable up to 24 hours prior to the day of arrival.
• An additional credit card convenience fee of 2.6% will show up as a separate transaction on your credit card.
SEASONAL INFORMATION
May 1 is the official start of the summer season at Petosega. Water is typically shut off in mid-October and the campground closes for the winter season.
Winter cabin rentals are available for cabins D, F, 1, 2 & 3 (*no plumbing available; electricity is on).
CAMPGROUND
Camp Petosega’s campground is site-specific, you must choose the site you would like to reserve when you make your online reservation. Tents are permitted on all sites.
- One tent and one of the following per campsite are allowed: tent, motorhome, camping trailer
- Two-night minimum
- Check-in is 3 p.m. Check-out is 1 p.m.
- Tents permitted on all sites
- Barrier Free Sites are 38, 47, 61, 67, 68, 71, 74, 77, 78, 82
- Sites 86 – 90 are pull-thru with full hook-up
- All sites have water and 50 or 30 amp electrical service
- Four additional Rustic Tent sites (no water or electrical service)

Rustic sites: $15 per night
Non pull-through sites: $35 per night
Pull-through sites: $40 per night

CABIN 4
Cabin 4 is available from early May through mid-October. It has electricity and plumbing. Other specifications include:
- Accommodates 4 people
- Full bathroom and kitchen
- 1 queen-sized bed
- 1 set of bunk beds
- Kitchen utensils and bed linens not provided
- Check-in is 3 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m.
- Tents prohibited at cabins
- 100 yard walk to access the cabin
- No pets allowed

CABIN 5
Cabin 5 is available from early May through mid-October. It has electricity and plumbing. Other specifications include:

- Full kitchen and bathroom
- 1 queen-size bed

- Check-in is 3 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m.

CABIN D
Cabin D is available for rent year-round. It includes electricity but does not have plumbing. Cabin D is close to Pickerel Lake and only 100 feet or so from the snowshoe trail and groomed cross country ski trail. Other specifications include:
- Two-night minimum
- Accommodates 10-12 people in two-story building
- Microwave, cook stove and refrigerator
- 1 couch, 1 queen-size bed downstairs
- 10 twin-size beds upstairs
- Kitchen utensils and bed linens not provided
- Check-in is 3 p.m. Check-out is 11 a.m.
- Tents prohibited at cabins
- No pets allowed

CABIN F
Located just before the bridge, Cabin F is available for rent year-round. It includes electricity and a do-it-yourself wood-burning stove. Firewood is available for sale at the campground office. Cabin F does not have plumbing. Other specifications include:

- Accommodates 8 people – one story building
- 1 table, small kitchen, electric cooktop stove, do-it-yourself wood-burning stove
- 4 bunk beds
- Kitchen utensils and bed linens not provided

Public Playground Area
Thanks to grant funding from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Land and Water Conservation Fund as well as the Local Revenue Sharing Board, Camp Petosega has a sprawling, handicapped-accessible playground only yards from the beach and bathhouse. Camp Petosega is open to the public for day-use at no charge, so Emmet County residents and others can enjoy the playground, beach and trails throughout the year.
